1. All exhibitors are required to wear white shirts while exhibiting animals in the ring.
2. All rules governing livestock in the General and Special Rules and Junior Rules apply to this department.  BE SURE TO CHECK NM LIVESTOCK BOARD HEALTH RULES
A.Out of State cattle need Health Papers or Proof of Vaccination.
B.Negative Brucellosis test if 18 months of age, unless

3. OCV under 20 months of age and vaccinated between 4 thru 10 months of age.

4. All animals must be owned by exhibitor not less than 90 days prior to the opening of the fair.

5. If there are any questions about the age, identification or breed of any dairy animal, the Dairy
Superintendent and the fair Veterinarian will make the appropriate determination about eligibility.

6. All dairy cattle entries are due August 1, 2009. Bring registration paper or Bill Of Sale to check in at fair.

7. Registered cattle cannot be entered unless they have been recorded in the recognized book of records for the respective breeds. Exhibitors of such cattle must take available certificates of registry to the Dairy Superintendent at anytime during the fair.

8. Grade cattle must be accompanied by a certificate from the breeder of the animal stating sire, dam and birth date. A bill of sale is also required. There will be no crossbreed cattle. Grade cattle must meet general breed standards and be pure bred.

9. Where there is no competition, animals may be awarded first, second, third or no premium according to the merit of the animal. If there are not enough registered or grade animals to make a separate class (minimum of 3 animals to make a class), registered and grade animals will compete in the same class. This is to be done at the total discretion of the superintendent.


CLASSES FOR DAIRY HEIFERS
All breed groups

1. Spring Heifer Calf born after February 28, 2009
2. Winter Heifer Calf born Dec. 2008, Jan. 2009 or Feb. 2009
3. Fall Heifer Calf born Sept., Oct. or Nov. 2008
4. Summer Yearling Heifer born June, July or August 2008
5. Spring Yearling Heifer born March, April or May 2008
6. Winter Yearling Heifer born Dec. 2007, Jan. or Feb. 2008
7. Fall Yearling Heifer born Sept., Oct. or Nov. 2007
8. Classes smaller than 3 entries will be combined at the discretion of the superintendent.
9. The Grand and Reserve will be selected from the First and Second place of each class.

One Grade Replacement Heifer will sell.
