CLASSES:
1.  Wethers------0 to 6 months  4.  Does------0 to 6 months
2.  Wethers------6 to 12 months        5.  Does------6 to 12 months
3.  Wethers-----1 year and older6.  Does------1 year and older

1.Entry fee is $8.00 per head.

2.No feeding of goats in pen.

3.All rules governing livestock in the General and Junior Livestock Special Rules apply.

4.All pygmy goats must be owed and cared for by the exhibitor at least 90 days prior to the first day
of the Fair.  If kid is under 3 months of age, the exhibitor must have owned and cared for the dam
on  or before the first day of Fair.

5.All pygmy goats older than 6 months of age must by individually identified – legible ear or tail web
tattoo or micro-chipped.

6.All pygmy goats on the fairgrounds must be listed on a New Mexico Health Certificate dated
Within the last 30 days.  The individual identification must be listed on that Health Certificate.

7.All pygmy goats must have a negative test result for Brucellosis and TB  dated within the last 30
days unless they are from a New Mexico Certified Free Herd or are under 6 months of age.  BE SURE TO CHECK NM LIVESTOCK BOARD HEALTH RULES.

8.Animals entered in the  Youth Pygmy Goat Show are not required to be registered with the
National Pygmy Goat Association but will be judged according to the breed standard.

9.All  male pygmy goats must be wethered.

10.All animals must be disbudded or dehorned and have no scurs over 1.5 inches.

11.Pygmy goat exhibitors are required to wear dark pants and a white shirt while exhibiting.

12.Classes may be combined or divide as the chairman deems necessary.

PYGMY GOAT SHOWMANSHIP

1.The goat being shown must have been shown in the  appropriate Pygmy Goat Class.
2.Exhibitor must own the animal.
3.Exhibitor will be judged on:
        A.Appearance of animal
        B.Appearance of exhibitor
        C.Showmanship ability
        D.General knowledge of the pygmy goat for the exhibitor’s age level
        E.Exhibitor’s conduct in the show ring.
