Show Rules:
1.This show is for all Valencia County Club & FFA members. Entries Due no later than Saturday, August 1, 2009. No late entries or pre-show entries will be permitted.
2.Entries must be turned in to Valencia Fair Management Co, Inc. P.O. Box 344 Belen, N.M. 87002 by August 1, 2009. Entry fees must accompany entry or it will not be accepted. DO NOT SEND ENTRIES TO THE COUNTY EXTENSION OFFICE.
3.The show will be Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 8:30 am. Only the Best of Breed, Best of Opposites of Breed, Grand Champion Meat Pen & Grand Champion Fryer will remain at the fairgrounds for the duration of the fair. Each exhibitor will be responsible for his/hers feeding & watering of their rabbits. Rabbits will be released Sunday, August 30, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.. You must be checked out through the superintendent.
4.Entry fees for each rabbit - $1.50 & meat pens of 3 - $3.00
5.All exhibitors must have their entry certified by their FFA instructor or their 4-H Leader. Certification indicates that the exhibitor has owned and raised his/her entries as listed.
6.Each rabbit must have a legible tattoo in the left ear. If the tattoo cannot be read your animal will not be shown. It is the exhibitors responsibility to get their rabbits to the show table
7.Classification will be done by breed, weight and age. They will be judged according to the ARBA standards per breed. A fur class will be also judged accordingly and the rabbit must be entered in its regular class.
8.All rabbits must be owned and cared for by the exhibitor by May 1 of the fair year. In the case of meat pens and fryers, the exhibitor must own the doe by May 1. Meat pens and fryers must not be over 10 weeks of age and not weigh over 5 lbs. The date of birth must be written on the entry form.
9.In order to compete in showmanship you must have rabbits entered in the show.
10.The superintendent has the authority to disqualify any exhibitor for violations of any show rules. If any sick animals are observed the exhibitor will be called to take the animal home. The best of care will be taken for the security and safety of your animals. The VFMCI will not be held responsible for fire or theft.
