Open Indoor General Rules
These rules apply for all Open Classes, Departments A thru L.
Special Rules will be listed in each department if there are any.
1.All entries are to be entered Saturday, August 18th and Sunday, August 19th, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 7:00pm, 
each day.
2.Exhibitors may enter only in their age division.
  •  Tiny Tots-7 years and younger, Juniors- 8-12 years, Seniors- 13-17 years old, and Adults-18 and older
oArt Division
  • Tiny Tots- 5 & younger, Novice- 6-10 years old, Juniors- 10-13 years old, Seniors- 14-17 years old, and Adults- 18 & over and Inclusive Artists
3.INCLUSIVE ARTIST ELIGIBILITY. The Valencia County Fair Inclusive Division is an option for people with disabilities who receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 to have the opportunity and accommodations they may need in order to participate fully in the program. The Special Artist Division offers modified rules and guidelines to ensure that every person has the chance to be part of the Valencia County Fair Open Indoor.
  • Allowable Accommodations: Given the diverse range of physical and mental disabilities that exist, it would be impossible to outline specific accommodations for each and every disability, but the following provides a non- exhaustive list of allowable accommodations: 
  •  The Special Artist Division will not be divided by age or traditional school grade level. 
  • Use of adaptive technology is allowed. 
  • All submissions must be solely created by the inclusive artist. However, a parent, teacher or other adult may assist the inclusive artist with typing, holding a camera, etc.
4.Items must be correctly identified with the correct name, or the entry will be disqualified. Unlisted entries will be entered in “Other” category.
5.Ribbons
  • Ribbons will be awarded based on merit of artworks submitted in a Class Division for each Age Division (ie. Drawings or Print making by Novice). Number of ribbons awarded will be determined by the fair committee. Typically, this will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Places. If there are sufficient entries of merit in a Class Division, 4th, 5th, and 6th Places and/or Honorable Mention/Merit may be awarded.
  •  Additional Ribbons: Best in Show: One per Age Division, per Department
6.Every precaution will be taken for the safety of all entries, but in no case will the fair be responsible for loss or damages to any entry while it is in the possession of the fair.
7.SALES: Any adult artist wishing to sell their entry during the fair will be given the opportunity to do so. 10% of the sale charged as a COMMISSION FEE FOR SALES MADE AT THE FAIR.
  • Please make sure you have the price visible on the front of your submission.
  • Sales are only available in the Adult Division.
  • NO SALES in Department D- Baked Goods. However, the exhibitors name and phone number can be given to make contact outside of the Valencia County Fair. Name and phone number will be given with the permission of the exhibitor. Name and phone number can be displayed with their entry.
8.Entries which are exhibited may be claimed upon presentation of claim check only on SUNDAY, AUGUST 25th between 9am and 12pm. Any exhibit remaining on the fairgrounds will become property of the fair, to be disposed of at the discretion of the VFMC, unless prior arrangements have been made.
9.All entries must be original, in good taste, and family friendly. 
10.The fair reserves the right to not display any submissions deemed inappropriate for the ambiance of the fair.
11.Every precaution will be taken for the safety of submitted entries, but in no case will the Valencia County Fair by responsible for loss or damages to any entry while in possession of the Fair.
12.Photos and video may be taken by the fair commission and used for marketing purposes. 
13.Artists who submit entries understand that by doing so, they grant permission for images/video of their artworks to be used. Media will not be used for profit and artists retain copyright.
14.Entries must remain on display until designated pick-up day. They may be claimed on August 25, at 9am until 12pm. Any exhibits remaining on the fairgrounds after final pickup day will become the property of the fair, to be disposed of at the discretion of VFMC, unless prior arrangements have been made.
